February 6th

Monday

Breakfast Meet - Join us on the first Monday of each month between 08:00 and 10:00am at Fast Eddys in Walter Rd, Morley for breakfast and a chat. Bring your Buick along and enjoy the pleasant ambience and memorabilia from a bygone era over a coffee or two. We have a room booked and parking is good.

February 11th

Big Al's Poker Run—We don’t usually organise a run for this but many like to come down for the day to check out the huge display of cars

February 12th

Sunday

Valentines Day Brekkie—“Buick Park” Burswood (off Resort Drive near the Causeway and opposite Heirisson Island. This is an old favourite with great parking and views over the River to the City.

BYO everything for breakfast anytime from 7.30am onwards. BBQs are available .There will be a short run planned after brekkie at about 10.30 for those who want to “kick on”

February 15th

Wednesday

Summersun Cruize to Mandurah---This is the 3^rd year we have joined this cruize. It starts at Joondalup at 6.00pm and runs straight down the freeway for Fish-n-chips at Mandurah. Participants are invited to wait on the Freeway at your most convenient spot and join the convoy as it roars past. This cruize usually attracts several hundred cars and a “show and shine” is held on the grassy foreshore in Central Mandurah. There are many restaurants, cafes etc to cater for your evening meal.

Northam Swap Meet No run planned for this one but many members make their own way over to Northam. The sellers go really early and we “lookers” head up a bit later and catch up for a coffee. Usually a good day.

General Meeting 10.30 for morning tea at Bev and Peter Nicholson’s place at 255 Benmuni Road, Wanneroo. No run planned as Pete and Bev have great collection of cars and memorabilia to keep us occupied.

This will be followed by our general meeting and then BYO everything for lunch.

March 24th

Brookton Motor Show—Looking for a bit of feed back here. Our last attendance was greeted with a $12.00 per head (not car) to show our cars. Members were understandably “not happy”

We were thinking of making it a day trip (rather than the whole weekend. Go to Brookton for lunch –have a look at the show and head home Saturday arvo

Northam “Round the Houses Races” Autumn Run This will be the 60th anniversary of the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA annual ‘round the houses race.

There will be many car clubs there and we would like to see our Buicks well represented. There will be a cost of $10.00 per car.

We are planning a run to Cunderdin on Friday, staying at the famous Ettamogah Pub, on to Toodyay on Saturday and then the Northam races on Sunday. Times etc will be advised a little closer to the event.

We need to know numbers to firm up our accommodation bookings so please let Harold know on buick51@bigpond.com before March 1st if you wish to attend

Whiteman Park Classic Car Show. As we only display our cars every second year, 2012 is not our year.

However put the date in your diary as many members still attend and it is a very worth while day with over 1.000 classic cars on display, and of course there is the Motor Museum.

Bakers Hill Progress Association—This date has to be confirmed.

Bakers Hill is about 25km West of Northam) and they are planning a community fair and reflection on the 115 year history of the Bakers Hill/Wundowie/Clackline/ Spencer Brook area.

We have been invited to display our cars and join in the fun.

We will keep you posted as details evolve.

Freo Prison We are having a general meeting followed by lunch at Fremantle’s historic Prison.

We are meeting in the car park of Stammers Super Market on the corner of Canning Highway and Petra Street in East Fremantle at 9.00 for a 9.30 start.

We will have a short run to Monument hill in High St Freo for a very brief photo shoot and then onto the Prison in The Terrace, Fremantle.

There is ticket parking in front of the prison.

We have booked the “Doing Time Tour” which will cost $18.50 per head and will last about an hour and a half .

BYO everything for lunch in the park next door. Alternatively there is a cafe in the Prison itself
